Beam App - Connection Help

Connecting to the BEAM App

  1. Power on your BEAM.
  2. Launch the BEAM app on your mobile device.
  3. Tap CONNECT DEVICE to start scanning, then tap your device when it appears: BEAM SOLO BLE or BEAM MINI BLE.
  4. On first connect, your phone may ask to pair. Tap Pair/OK.

You can also open the menu in the toolbar and tap + Connect device.

Tip: Connect to the app (BLE/data) first. Pair Bluetooth audio afterwards only if you want to stream audio.

Pairing for Audio Streaming

  1. Press the Bluetooth button once. The indicator flashes. (On the BEAM SOLO this is on the back; on the BEAM MINI it’s on the top.)
  2. Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings and select your device: BEAM SOLO Audio or BEAM MINI Audio.
  3. Next time, just press the Bluetooth button once to reconnect. The indicator flashes blue then goes solid when connected.

To disconnect from a currently paired audio device, press and hold the Bluetooth button for 5 seconds until the indicator turns off.

Common Do’s & Don’ts

Do

  • Open the BEAM app and connect to BEAM SOLO BLE / BEAM MINI BLE first for data control.
  • Only pair BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio if you want Bluetooth audio streaming.
  • Use the app’s + Connect device option if needed.

Don’t

  • Don’t press-and-hold the Bluetooth button before connecting in the app.
  • Don’t pair BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio first if your goal is to connect the app — this can prevent discovery.
  • Don’t stay paired to old entries; remove stale BEAM SOLO BLE / BEAM MINI BLE or BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio if things get stuck.

Bluetooth Troubleshooting

If the app finds no devices

  1. Quit the BEAM app (fully close it).
  2. Go to phone Bluetooth settings → find any BEAM SOLO BLE / BEAM MINI BLE or BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio → Forget each.
  3. Toggle Bluetooth Off → On.
  4. Power cycle your BEAM device: turn Off, then On.
  5. Open the BEAM app → CONNECT DEVICE → choose BEAM SOLO BLE / BEAM MINI BLE.
  6. Only after the app is connected, pair BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio if you want streaming.

Reset connection & pairing

  1. Power off your BEAM device and quit the app.
  2. Forget BEAM SOLO BLE / BEAM MINI BLE and BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio from Bluetooth settings.
  3. Power on your BEAM device.
  4. Connect via the BEAM app to BEAM SOLO BLE / BEAM MINI BLE.
  5. (Optional) Pair BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio for streaming by pressing the Bluetooth button once and selecting it in Bluetooth settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you paired BEAM SOLO / BEAM MINI Audio first, the unit may be in audio search/connected mode and won’t show for the app. Forget the device in Bluetooth settings, restart Bluetooth, then connect from inside the app.

No. Pairing is only needed the first time with each phone/tablet. Afterwards, press the Bluetooth button once to reconnect; the blue indicator will go solid when connected.

Press and hold the Bluetooth button on your BEAM device for 5 seconds until the blue indicator turns off.
