Ok, so I wrote to Blackstar about 3 issues...

First, the tuner with the Insider software, not working properly.
Second, when saving a patch with Insider, tempo delay is not saved correctly.
Third, this one is really disappointing. The noise gate does not work properly with OD1 & OD2.
The sound cuts off, it cuts the decaying notes. It works fine with the other voices.

I hope to get an answer sooner than later.

OK, so just for proof, here is the email I got from B* They have pushed the 1 week release date to 3 weeks, but hey, lets not knock it!

Hi Joe,

Thank you for getting in contact with us here at Blackstar Amps, we are sorry you are experiencing this issue with INSIDER.

Unfortunately the software is not currently compatible with windows 8.1 so this is why it is not running properly- however this is something we are rectifying in the next update, the update should be in the next three weeks’ time.

I hope this has helped, please do get in contact if you have any further questions on this.

Kind regards,

To run Insider on a tablet would be amazing.

It's such a graphical interface already, I find myself just itching to reach out and turn those dials on the screen.

Much tidier too to have my iPad on a stand where I could tweak things, than an ungainly laptop.

Go on, you know you want to!

So I received an email today that a firmware update will be available by the end of the month.
My 3 issues are... Tuner, noise gate and tempo delay (when saved with Insider)

From the email... ''These are errors that have arisen in some cases that we have been working to rectify, they should be solved in the next firmware update which will be out later this month (around 2-3 weeks)''
Hopefully all 3 issues will be corrected.

Great news!

Any mention of whether this update fixes the impossible controller number required to save patches via midi?

Am I misunderstanding something, or is the software not capable of saving the layout on exit?

In version 1.4 I'd like to open the software with the same layout etc. that I set it to, in the same way as all the other software I've ever used.

So I've got the latest software update.............but it still won't retain my settings for which windows to display, sizes, etc. Which part of the 'save layout on exit' ticked box is it that it doesn't understand?? Utter crap. Every time I use it I have to resize, rearrange, and close displayed windows. I contacted support about this months ago but never got a reply.
In addition to the 'save layout' issue, I can't see what else this update has changed; it looks and behaves the same as before.

If anyone has any new issues regarding the INSIDER software please do email or email via the form on support page.

We do aim to reply as soon as possible and they are coming through as we had some emails last night.
If you can provide your operating system specifics and computer specs then that will help us test any issues.
If you really have an issue still please give us a call and we will try to locate your email / issue.

The release was mainly aimed to make INSIDER compatible with new operating systems. Small bug fixes were also added into the update. More noticeable and viewable issues will be looked at for a later release of the software.

Okay, after all these promises and countless emails, the question still remains as in the very first post on this thread.
