I need help with installing a Mercury Magnetics upgrade in a HT5RH.

any info would be helpful, looking for a circit diagram or instructions.

I have the details from MM on their output transformer and choke but nothing for the HT5R.

I have looked at the "successful MM Upgrade" thread but that seems to be for a different model.

Thanks.

bump

Have emailed blackstar twice, no reply.

I just need to know where to connect the wires from the output transformer,

sadly the original output transformer was taken out before I got the amp.

Have googled myself silly but no joy.

try asking on the marshall forum or another place.

It's unfortunate Blackstar won't help you. They do not seem forthcoming with their schematics. I don't think anyone would want to clone their stuff tbh.

But if you look hard enough, you can find a HT-5 schematic on the net.

To my knowledge, no one here has any technical expertise.

I think I am nearly there, have got it working so I am happy.

Waiting for a bit more info from Blackstar but they said they will help so it should be OK.

Ok all done now,
Both Power and Output transformers installed,
Changed both tubes and it sounds great.

Lee at Blackstar helped with the wiring, Thanks Lee.

Congrats on getting it handled. Can you elaborate on the tone & feel differences? Did you compare the new tranformer's tones to the stock tones before changing tubes?

I got it without the power transformer,
first thing I did was install the MM transformer and NOS 12bh7 so i didnt hear it before then.

played it for a couple of days, but mainly through headphones, so with standby switched off so output transformer not used.

Not sure my opinion is valid, I suspect several factors including placebo effect + positive suggestion from various forums + a buzz from getting it working + 12BH7 wearing in + getting better at finding settings I like + genuine improvement in tone.

Anyway it sounds better to me, cleans are clear and warm and I can hear the details of the tones more.

Might be my ears learning to hear the amp better, but I am happy anyway.
