After reading the owner's manual, I waned to be sure I have this correctly:

To use the emulated recording out without having sound come through the speakers, all I have to do is keep it in standby and run a cable to my recording software input box. There's no reason to unplug the internal speakers, correct?

Second, has anyone gigging with this amp had any trouble with the PC-styled cable connectors? Have they been durable for you?

Thanks.

To use the emulated out with no sound from the speakers, just turn the master volume to 0. The master volume of the amp doesn't affect the emulated out.

Regarding the connector, my Blackstar is an HT-20 so uses normal 1/4" jacks, but I did have a Marshall amp that used a "PC type" D-sub connector for the footswitch and I never had any problem with it in nearly ten years I had the amp. I think the most common problem is people doing the thumbscrews up too tight and then unscrewing the post nuts from the chassis when they undo them. Just do them up very lightly, same as you would on a PC, and they don't give problems IME.
