I currently own a series one 100 head and am possibly looking to upgrade to the bigger brothers of the amp:

1. series one 104 6L6

2. series one 104 El34

3. series one 200

I love my series one 100, but I would be happier with a heavier distortion channel and having a separate EQ for my clean channel. I mainly play hard rock/metal.

To anyone who has tried these amps or owns them, what would you say the features are sound wise? Did you get to compare them to each other before purchasing? I personally love how I can play a full chord on thick distortion right now and hear every note chime through. I don't know if that comes from the amp or my EL34 tubes in my series one 100.

Thanks!

I have the Series One 200, but have never tried the 100, so I really can't comment on the differences. I think the S1 200 is a terrific amp with a lot of gain on tap. I haven't been using it as much, as I've been using my Marshall JVM, which suits the songs my band plays better -- classic rock stuff.

If you are happy with your 100, definitely try out the 200 before taking the plunge. As for the need for heavier distortion, a nice pedal could help.
