Tube combination

Hi, I have received my new Red HT 40 a month ago. I have already swap the speaker for a wgs veteran 30.

I will change the stock ruby tube shortly I want the have your opinion on tube combination for the preamp section.

I have read some good thing from the tung sol for the gain channel but it maybe be to harsh for the clean.

I will use the amp for blues and rock/hard rock

Depends on what you want to accomplish...improve sweep/ reduce gain - 12AY7 or 5751, gritty 12AX7 - Tung Sol, Mullard - nice and full, etc.
