Re: Speaker upgrade recommendations for HT-40

Go with V30s only all the way. Or what I'm saying is find one single type of speaker for both cabs. When micing they only mic one of the speakers live so you will only be heard through one. I would stick with one type and dial your tone in for that that way you know exactly how you will be heard liv...

Best speaker for ID TVP range?

I know the ID 412 cabinets come with Celestion Seventy 80s so I know that is the main speaker that is meant to represent the TVP the best. My only question is although that is the case and I do like the sound of the Seventy 80s with the 60 head, the amps 6 channels are based off of the Series One wh...

Re: ID series HISS

Fuck Yamaha tried it it sounds like a small piece of tin. I would say try a Furman power conditioning power strip. Regardless though any of the channels besides OD1 and OD2 will have noise due to there not being a noise gat on those. I particularly love the super crunch channel the most and have pos...

Re: ID 260 TVP: Overdrive or distortion pedal for metal tone

I've never felt the need for a tube screamer the amp has tons of tight gain on tap. Maybe try 6L6 tubes with ISF at 0/American and OD1 gain at noon or Super Crunch gain at 3o'clock-maxed out

Re: Settings for a sound similar to the HT100H?

I would say when dialing in a matching tone on ID to match HT: HT clean button out= bright clean on ID HT clean button in= warm clean on ID HT OD1 button out= crunch on ID HT OD1 button in= super crunch on ID HT OD2 button out= OD1 on ID HT OD2 button in= OD2 on ID. Keep in mind ID amps are based of...

Re: Settings for a sound similar to the HT100H?

What he said about the speakers is right but also make sure you have your amp on EL34, obviously, but make sure your channel/preamp volume is like at 2 or 3 o'clock. Also just to take note of, the ID amps are based off the Series One 6 channels so it won't be exact to the HT. I personally owned both...

Re: Need advice - thinking of buying a Blackstar HT-1 or HT-

As far as the HT1 being discontinued I don't think so guitar center just is cutting back their inventory. To answer your question though the HT 5R combo would be a better choice. It sounds great at low volumes. With the addition of the full EQ and fx loop along with standby switch that will allow fo...

Re: Ht 5rh loud enough for metal/djent in a gig

In general though I personally have owned both the Ht 5 and Metal 5 and 100% they are jusssst shy of being giggable. Like the guy above said, especially the clean channel breaks up way too soon. I tried both at rehearsal and could barely hang with the volume dimed on ch 2. If your trying to gig go f...

Re: HT Club 50 head

Blackstar makes quality products. If it's randomly acting up its most likely the tubes going bad. If they're still stock this is more likely. On the brighter side many say swapping the tubes in general from stock is a huge improvement in tone although I loved my HT 50 as is! Good luck.

Re: ID 30TVP Combo farty (resonance) sound

Either that or try putting it up on a chair or something so it's closer to ear level so you can hear how loud it actually is. Like I said with the extra 1x12 hooked up to it, with my channel volume at 2o'clock, the master only need to be at 10 o'clock or if having volume wars with other guitarist, 1...
