Re: Blackstar Series One Master Volume Question

So maybe they are not as common as I had thought, but I still think you made the right decision in returning it. Blackstar doesn't hand out their schematics to people who are not authorized, so repairing them isn't as easy as some other amps. I will keep my eyes open for used S1 50s and will post th...

Re: Blackstar Series One Master Volume Question

Even if it's used, you shouldn't have to deal with having to fix it right off the bat. I don't know how much you paid for it, but these are not particularly rare amps, so finding another one shouldn't be too hard. Here is one, for example, that is new, and they are asking for $875. http://www.ebay.c...

Re: Blackstar Series One Master Volume Question

Sounds like something isn't right. The master volume on my S1 200 works perfectly fine, and I do notice the tonal change with the ISF knob. I would definitely send it back. I had to replace a part on my amp and had to go through a Korg USA authorized repair shop. The part I needed had to get ordered...

Re: HT-5C speaker replacement with WGS ET-65

The WGS ET 65s are very nice speakers. I have them in a 4x12 and was pushing them with a Marshall JVM. I found they have great tone, but do have some difficulty cutting through the band. But, I bet they sound great through the HT 5.

Re: Stay with Venue Series or move to Series One?

I think it's all pretty subjective. My advice to you is, if you are already getting the tones you like, I would save your money. I started off with an HT100 head, and loved the tones I was getting. I couldn't try out a Series One, and thought it has to be better, so I went and bought a Series One 20...

Re: ID Core20 FW Update FAIL

It's amazing that the company doesn't do a better job with the updates to prevent this sort of thing happening. I haven't updated my ID amp for this very reason, and probably never will, since the amp suits my needs just the way it came out of the box. Good luck.

I don't know about the S145, but I do have a S1200, and it has excellent cleans.

I still think you should return the amp. If you are going to swap the tubes anyway, you will need to get the power tubes biased. Whereas the preamp tubes are plug and play.

Re: Clean Channel Problems

You could try replacing the preamp tube.
