Re: HT-1R Buzz

I have the same amp and at idle with no guitar there is no audible hum. If I put my ear right up to the speaker in a quiet room, there is just the normal ac hum present, but step back a few feet and it's not audible. Try putting the amp in a different room with little or no electronic gear around an...

Re: HT1R Combo More Metal Than Rock?

I put those new tubes in my HT1R combo today. EH 12AU7A and the Tung-Sol 12AX7A. The two tubes that came with the amp were a Sovtek 12AX7WA and a TAD 12AU7. As of first playing with the replacements, I cannot say if I hear much of a difference in tone....I'll need more time for that. I think their i...

Re: HT1R Combo More Metal Than Rock?

I should have written that when using my HT1R's gain channel (not the clean channel). I guess it depends on one's mood when plugged into the amp. I haven't experimented with the clean channel with the gain knob up over 60 to 70 percent. That's my next experiment. I'm a fan of trying to use one chann...

HT1R Combo More Metal Than Rock?

Not that I have a problem with the way my HT1R Combo sounds, but when put to a vote, would one say
that the HT1R has more "Metal" in its' character that "Rock" or "Classic Rock"?

Re: Blackstar Ht-1

Off hand answer: I'd say yes, but not at that band's volume........the rest of the missing volume you'd have to imagine.

Re: HT-1 Settings Thread

For all of us who might struggle a bit getting good tones from our HT1R Combo or Head, here's a video you can get familiar with. Mike Burn explains near the end why his system works and especially why when you set your guitar's volumes in the lower ranges 0 - 5 range. I followed Mike's lesson, but m...

If you take into account that the members number about 2400 folks, I don't think anyone can complain about the number and frequency of posts here. Give it time! I have the feeling that growth of this forum will multiply over time. Most who are Blackstar owners are quite happy with their choices and ...

Re: Hard Rock From HT1R Combo

I'm no expert either, but I agree with you here. Here's what I've done using my Les Paul Studio Deluxe. I set my guitar neck volume around 3 and the bridge between 4 and 5. My tone on the neck is about 7 and bridge tone about 4. The HT1R on the gain channel has gain just past noon; volume at 11:00 o...

Hard Rock From HT1R Combo

I'm enjoying my HT1R Combo for the tones it can do with my guitars. The gain channel seems like it should be classified as a "modern" amp tone. I'm more of a fan of Classic Rock and don't really listen to Metal (although I appreciate the talent and creativity that it takes to perform Metal guitar). ...
