Re: Dilemma between HT-5R Combo or HT-5RH + HT112 (1x12 cab)

Hi and welcome to the forum! I chose the HT-5RS (stack) for several reasons. I didn't care for the location of "back panel" on the combo as all the connections are under the chassis (I frequently connect and disconnect cables from the back because sometimes I have stuff running the effects loop and ...

Re: Popping noise when channel switching

I don't think the guitar or pickups have anything to do with premature valve failure. Actually, EMG's (assuming they are active) are lower output than high output passive pickups. The stock valves in these things are known to have reliability issues, that may be what you experienced. I was once told...

Re: Opinions, opinions, opinions

Some people are just circuit snobs. But... I think what gets a lot of people's backs up is that BS's advertising often isn't particularly honest. They make a big point of claiming the HT series are "all tube" when they quite obviously have a lot of SS components (so they're technically hybrid). I'v...

Re: HT5R combo upgrades

I have not bonded with the Blackbird 12's either. Always thought they sounded like speakers that were designed for modelling amps. Guess I was right..... the new ID series is using the Blackbirds. I'm saving for a pair of Scumback M75's. I have have played my HT-5R through a 1960 Marshall 4x12 and t...

Re: Opinions, opinions, opinions

Yeah, I see this all the time on TGP. There is even a very recent thread of HT-40 owners claiming they have all sold them because the ss rectifiers and the diode clipping aid in them getting lost in the mix. All this means to me is there are some good HT's out there on the used market!

Re: Off Topic: Agile AL3000 ($350) or Gibson LP Faded Studio ($575)

If you haven't already, go search other forums such as TGP and Rig Talk. You will find that most will say the Agile 3000's and up are far superior to Epi's, better than most Gibson studios, as good or in some cases better than the current Gibson LP Standards and Trad Pros. You will also find many th...

Re: Blackstar ht-5 mini stack

You are more than welcome.

I don't where you are located but I'd send an email to Korg (if in the US) or Blackstar if somewhere else describing you issues. They have been quick at resolving issues lately.
