Re: HT Club 50 issue - low gain with 1 guitar!

Nothing to correct.... I was just wondering if a buffered pedal would change the signal the amp is getting from the guitar. If the EMG's are in fact triggering some type of circuit in the amp, a buffered signal may change that. Don't know for sure, may do nothing, may make it worse. Grasping for str...

Re: HT Club 50 issue - low gain with 1 guitar!

Does rolling the guitar volume down have any effect? What about switching to the neck pu? Another thought... have you tried a buffer pedal between the guitar and amp? (any boss would do) I agree with others, somehow your Blackstar is reacting to the EMG pre-amp in an adverse way. (the pickups themse...

Re: Too bassy?

Not too bassy for me at all. I'm running 2 of Blackstar 1X12's and I keep the bass around noon. Other settings: (not recommending them just listing as reference) Reverb: 8 o'clock ISF: 12:30 Treble: 1:30 Mids: 1:00 Gain: 12:30 The tone I'm getting is similar to Sykes on 87 Whitesanke album. (not nea...

Re: Speaker advice (Celestion vs Blackbird)

Sounds like a good plan! Check out Avatar cabs, good quality and resonable prices. (no association whatsoever)

Re: Speaker advice (Celestion vs Blackbird)

The first HT-5 I tried was a non reverb model head and cab with the 10" speaker. Didn't like it at all and basically wrote the HT-5 off. A few months later I was talked in to trying the newer HT-5R head with the newer 12" cab and it was night and day better. Now, the 12" blackbird is not a great spe...

Re: make headphones work?

Congrats on your amp purchase! Sounds like you have the HT-5R? Try putting the amp in standby..... this will kill the speaker but the emulated/headphone out will still function.

Re: HT5R combo upgrades

I have 12's. This head sounds much better with G12-65's, Greenbacks & V-30's in a closed back cab IMO. Actually, even G12T-75's sounded better to me but maybe because there were 4 of them!

Re: Sold the PV Classic 50

Since all options are limited to 50W I'll scratch the S1-45 and add another 3 channel: The EVH 5150 III 50W
