Re: ht5r: fx loop fixed or not?

I have the HT-5R head and the loop works perfectly for me with stomp boxes and multi-fx.

Re: Cant Decide..

big amps + master volume or attenuator sound better than the small amps. This is my thought too... at least down to coversation levels. I will keep my HT-5 head around for mouse-fart volumes. I also use an RP1000 as a headphone amp when I want to change things up but the digital nuances g...

Re: Seeking alternative to the HT-5's dull sounding cabs

The JVM's are sweet majik! The prices seem to be easing their way down too. From what I've read, they are very mod friendly and can be tweeked to get just about anything you want from them.

Re: Seeking alternative to the HT-5's dull sounding cabs

Fixed my cab issue for now. Picked up a 1960A for $350 and it works well with HT5. Not really why I got it though... I will be adding a Marshall 50-100 watt head to it as soon as the funds allow and the right deal surfaces. BTW, I compared a tubemeister 18 to my 5 side by side (max gain on 18 and ab...

Re: Blackstar 2x12 cab with 70/80's sounds and feels too tight.

Would 2 greenbacks handle 100 watts? I would sugggest G12-65's or V-30's at a minimum (based on power handling). Mixing a V-30 with either a 65 or 75 is a popular combo. Matching watts will end up being the easy part... it's getting the tone you want that gets tricky. If you really want a greenback-...

Re: Multi Effects Board

I have a RP1000 that I've used with the HT-5 via 4 cable method (in stompbox mode) and it worked great. (until my son tried to use the power supply on a computer and toasted it) Used it for boost up front, sometimes fiddled with the models, noise gate, compressor, and delays, phasers and such in the...

Re: Seeking alternative to the HT-5's dull sounding cabs

I really appreciate the expereince I've had with my HT-5RS but I find myself wanting more. I play mostly 80's - early 90's hard rock and it does a decent redering of those general tones but I like it much better with a DS-1 pushing it. BTW, I can't get anything close to early EVH tones out of it, I ...
