My OD9 arrived a few days ago. Sounds great to push the amp into heavier territory.. well, it's basically a tubescreamer, but i noticed it has less of that dreaded mid hump.

Barber Direct Drive. Awesome pedal in front of the HT20. I've got a Maxon OD9 coming in a few weeks. I'll get back to you on this.

True. Speaker swap indeed makes the HT20 sound a lot better. I've got a Scumback H55 in mine. Thinking about getting an M75.

Stock are Sovtek 12AX7 and TADEL34. The Sovtek tubes are the low end ones, not really favored by a lot of users. I switched both of them to TungSol tubes and I couldn't be happier. JJ's would probably have a more in your face tone.

I am really lovin my HT20. Loaded with Tung Sol pre and power tubes plus a 65 watt Scumback H55.

The stock Celestion Rocket 50 really isn't a great speaker. I replaced mine with a Weber Scumback H55 and I couldn't ask for more.

Scumback is in! Definitely sounded way better than the stock Rocket 50 speaker.

Just wondering what speakers you have in your HT amps. I was supposed to get a WGS Reaper but a friend of mine gave me a good price for a Scumback H55. It would be arriving in a few weeks. So.. what speakers do you have in those amps?
