Sounds good, even at that low of a volume.

Re: Some old Van Halen through an Artist 30

That does sound good. I am a proud owner of the Artist 15. Great pedal platform amps.
Are you running the stock speaker?

Re: Blackstar Artist 30 - views, opinions, etc

Hope you got your amp all figured out. I have been using Blackstar for a few years now without problems. I hate hearing people struggle with and amp that sounds so good.

Re: Channel 1 or channel 2, which is your favourite?

Artist 15 owner. I prefer channel two almost exclusively. I like channel one for singles coils better than with the Les Paul and humbuckers. But I like the shimmer of channel 2 that channel one doesn't have. Cranking the ISF all the way up and adding some mids to channel 2 sounds the best for my nee...

Re: Series One 100 - Horrible squealing noise

I had this problem with my Series One. Pull the guts out of the head box and you will see a few plastic quick connectors. They are supposed to push and click together. One of mine had come loose during shipping. Once I pushed it back together the amp has worked as it should for the last 2 years.

Re: Series One intermittant sound cut out

I bought mine used from Guitar Center a year and a half ago. I got the extended 2 year warranty, and I find myself hoping now that the amp will cut out all together before the warranty runs out. As it sits now, I am afraid that if I send it in, they will turn it on and say everything is working fine...

Re: S-1 50w or 100w

I was in a similar situation. I originally found the 50 watt, but the Master wasn't working on it, so I had to return it. I ended up finding a better deal on a 100 watt head. Both sounded very similar, with the 50 breaking up faster on the clean channel as you would expect. These amps sound quite go...

I will echo this sentiment. If anyone has had this problem and found the solution, please share.

Re: 104 6L6 mic'd recording...

I believe Sammy has been using the Series One on some of his new recordings as well, but this is a different type of tone than you are after. I haven't yet tried it in the studio. I did do a couple of quick/crude clips using Garage Band, and found the tone to be more fizzy than I was expecting. Stil...
