Re: HT5R combo speaker upgrade

Fine !!! :D So , Greenback G12 96dB , G12H Heritage 100 dB , WGS Green Beret 99.63 dB of sensitivity ; I guess three or four points make the 'difference' , so I'm really oriented to the Greenback ... ( the stock Blackbird speaker 100 dB , sounded with more volume of my actual Celestion V-type , 98 ...

Re: HT5R combo speaker upgrade

I thank you , Arcadio . Apart from the safety , I guess it's enough for an home player a 25 -30 watt speaker ; but , if there's a difference of volume with a 70 watt speaker , tone and sound remain the same ? Volume is best judged by "sensitivity". Most manufacturers list this on their websites. Ma...

Re: HT5R combo speaker upgrade

Hi lagedor. Wattage on speakers is a measure of how many watts they can safely take before they fail. From a "will it work" standpoint, any speaker over 5 watts is ok for the HT-5R. Realistically, you're probably going to want to go 20 watts or above because that's what's out there and to have a lit...

Re: Ht-5r reliability ?

Hi phantom. I see your Schwartz is as big as mine. Glad your Blackstar is working out. Just FYI, I didn't join this forum only to gripe. I think I go back here before my amp melted down. But I do spend some time on the Fender forum and other guitar forums and I don't read about resistors melting and...

Re: Ht-5r reliability ?

Right and thanks for the follow-up reply. I'm just a hobbyist and I have another amp so it's not the end of the world, but it's still unsettling to have to worry about calling the shop every few weeks and not knowing when this whole mess will be resolved. I would rather be thinking about other thing...

Re: Before and after samples of speaker swap?

Just do it. If you must have samples, poke around soundcloud . Sorry I didn't do any formal a/b but I have a few before and a few after the switch. WGS ET65 is a great choice. The stock speaker has too much of a mid-focus in my opinion. It gets really loud-sounding without much effort, at the expens...

Re: Ht-5r reliability ?

I own an HT-5C. It's very similar to the 5R, except lacks reverb. It's been in the shop for the last three months with the PCB problem (fried R39 resistor area). I'm sorry to say that I cannot at this time recommend the HT-5R. It's a shame, because they really do sound good. Here are my gripes: 1) S...

Re: ID Core 40 with Zoom G5N?

Should sound great. Just run the G5N into the input on the amp. Make sure the Zoom is set up to play that way (I think it is set that way out of the box). I'd probably start with the amp on a clean setting.

Re: HT1 R sound on aux in

I have an HT-5C. Aux in sounds good with MP3s. It is a bit mid-focused due to the speaker. Vocals jump out of the mix. When I replaced the speaker (ET65) it sounded more balanced, but still not as good as playing MP3s through a dedicated music device. I tried my Zoom G3X as a modeler through both th...
