Re: Fuzz Issues

How does the pedal sound in the FX loop? I know they say you shouldnt put distortion units there but I found my DS-1 sounded rubbish in the front but much better in the loop. Do other OD/Dist/Fuzz units have the same effect in the front? I guess if it sounded good in the store HT40 it points to your...

Re: Little noise on my HT-40, is this normal ?

Hi, another factor is what type of pickups are in your guitar? Single coil (like a Stratocaster or Telecaster) which produce a certain amount of hum or white noise or Humbuckers (each pickup has two coils, like a Les Paul or SG, which as the name suggests cancel hum). Also, if you have a cheaper sin...

Re: HT Club 40 speaker change, from stock 16 ohms to 8 ohms

Yup, I upgraded to a Celestion Vintage 30 and the larger magnet does increase the weight! And yep, I bought a 4 wheel furniture dolly (already carpeted!) from the local hardware store for NZ$40 which is a backsaver!

Re: HT Club 40 speaker change, from stock 16 ohms to 8 ohms

If I understand what you want to do is install an 8 ohm speaker (which getting rid of the stock one will be a vast improvement!) then just make sure that the speaker cable is moved from the 1x16 socket to either one of the "1x8 ohm or 2x 16ohm" sockets. Im assuming you could connect it into either o...

Re: Very low output from HT-40

Hi, how old is the amp? is it still under warranty? It sounds like it may possibly be a tube failure - it may be best to not turn it on until you get better info on if doing so is safe or not (wait for phantums reply!) as you may possibly cause damage powering it up. How much did you have to wind th...

Re: Putting side handles on Club 40?

this certainly wouldnt be recommended for the stairs, but at our local hardware store I found a furniture dolly that is just about an exact fit for $nz40. Or you could make your own with cheap wood and casters. Best $40 Ive spent. I cant see any problem with installing handles, apart from that would...

Re: blackstar won't respond to my emails..

typical! you could try your amp once again with the regulator as before and see if the problem arises, then try it without. Also maybe take it to a friends place and try it both with and without the regulator there. If it happens again, maybe take it back to the store and tell them....Others here ma...

Re: Blackstar Series One 45 or Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reiss

Hi there....I dont know what either of those amps are like...I have a BS HT40 now, I used to use a Fender Super 60 1 x12 . I loved the Supers clean tones - classic Fender! The rating for that amp was based on the OD channel , not the clean channel, which is why the net is awash with people complaini...

Re: blackstar won't respond to my emails..

Hi...yes, take note of Phantums advice - he knows his stuff! As it is still under warranty call the shop you bought it from explaining the fault and find out the nearest Blackstar service centre. It may mean not having your amp for a while but if the alternative is possible serious damage, Id take i...
