Re: Just for Kicks

The DC-3 is an overdrive pedal. Not to be confused with a distortion pedal it adds a warm edge kind of like what you would expect from a tube amp when ran at full tilt. It provides some breakup but does not add to the amount of distortion. These amps have enough distortion as it is. The added bonus ...

Re: Need help on 1st valve amp - 20w or 40w?

I've been gigging steady with the HT-40 and the HT 1x12 extension now for about 6 or 7 months playing in a heavy classic rock act and it has never failed to keep up. I did change the pre amp tubes out for JJ's at a cost of about 25 dollars. They definitely made a difference tone wise. The stock spea...

Just for Kicks

Always being on the look out for new options yesterday just for kicks I added a Boss 0C3 into the chain to see if it was something I may like. My set up is the HT-40 and the HT 1X12 extension cab. Vox wah into the main in. T.C tuner into a Boss CH-1 into a Vox Time Machine set on analog into the eff...

Re: HT-40 w/ Way Huge Fat Sandwich?

I run an older MXR 10band EQ into the effects loop on my HT-40 and my god what an improvement. The amp was a beast before but now the sonic difference added is amazing. Nothing is muddled, the harmonics ring loud and clear and the overall tone went for a plus 10 to a plus 40.

Re: 60w, or 40w; advice

:D I have the HT-40 with the 1x12 extension cab. I picked up an older MXR 10 band graphic EQ and man did that breath fire into the beast. Run through the effects loop it brought the harmonics of the amp front and forward. It really warmed it up also. For me the 40 does everything I need now. I play ...

Re: Help needed !

I have the 40 with the 1x12 extension cab. I'm seriously thinking of upgrading to the 60 for more head room on the cleans. I've used the 40 now for about a dozen live gigs and the only issue has been the lack of headroom on the clean channel. In order to get it up to where I like it I'm into the cli...

Re: New Blackstar HT 40

The one thing I would have liked is a much longer foot switch cable. The one provided is too short for live.

Ht-40 verses HT-60

Hi guys. My current rig is the HT-40 and the 1x12 ext cab. My question is for anyone who has played live on both the 40 and the 60. I'm thinking of moving up to the 60 to get more headroom on the cleans. So here is my ? Is there that much of a noticeable difference in headroom between the 40 and the...

Re: HT Club 40 slip cover recommendations?

I find it funny that Blackstar doesn't offer up covers. It sure would make life easier to get a quality cover right from the amp manufacturer.
