Re: Big big troubles with HT-40

I had the same issue and I resolved it changing the preamp tubes. My ECC802 was broken.

Re: channel vol. vs. master vol. HT-60 stage

For me it's much better at low volume on channel control. In this way it sounds smoother and balanced. With high volume at channel controls the sound turns into more crispy sound, too much presence... I think.

Re: HT 40 excessive noise on channel 2

Change the preamp tubes.
Put JJ ecc83

You will improve the tone, you will get a fatter sound, warmer, and the noise disappears

Re: Diferent sound after repair. :-( where is the killing distorsion??

No, even whithout nothing plugged in (only the cabbinet) it sounds very loud noises like "craaaaack!!!"

Putting the ecc82 in a place that not V3 it doesn't make these noises, just hum.

Re: Support???? Think I'll leave Blackstar alone until it matures

I am very disappointed with the blackstar support. My ht-100 begun to make some loud noises and I sent my amp. to the Blackstar technical support. When it returned I noticed that it had lost gain and it sounded worse than before, however the noises were gone. I saw that the valves were placed in a b...

Re: Diferent sound after repair. :-( where is the killing distorsion??

when I put the the tubes correctly, it has begun to fail in the same way that before taking it to repair. Pops and loud noises. Conclusion: the fix of Blackstar was to change the order of valves, putting ECC82 in V2 position with the consequent loss of gain. I am very disappointed and do not want t...

Re: Pre-amp tube shootout this weekend.

I'm thinking to replace the preamp V1 and V2 tubes of my ht-100 with

What do you think?

Re: Diferent sound after repair. :-( where is the killing distorsion??

When I opened the amp yesterday I saw the ecc82 was in V2 possition, I changed to V1 possition and the sound is much better. The problem is the noise generated... I have seen today the ecc82 must to be in the V3 possition (near the power tubes). I hope this ends with the noise. In any case the sound...
