Re: HT 100 which tubes? or?

I am in total agreement with THEPHANTUM's descriptions of the various tube manufacturer's tonal characteristics. I also agree that the tong-sol gave some sparkle/clarity with added dimension.

I also love JJ's - but not in this amp. They are wonderful in my 1995 jcm2000/dsl100 Marshall.

Re: ID:60 - Trouble storing patches with FS-10

This is a wild guess for what may be happenning... 1. Get your footswitch to the navigation mode (led on left side will light up in lowest position). 2. With your footwitch, toggle up or down to the patch number you wish to modify. 3. Adjust amp settings. Do not press the button on the amp that togg...

Re: New HT 100 owner

Hey guys, I had the HT100 for about 2 years and actively gigged with it. For me it was a jack of all trades amp. It had low noise and was very reliable in producing consistent low and high volume tones. Nonetheless as a tone chaser I found myself dabbling with various OD/distortion stomp-boxes from ...

Re: FS10, how do you store a patch with it ?

Shawn, Fortunately I believe I have the solution to your problem. You have to take the amp out of Demo Mode. To do this, turn the amp off. Press and hold Manual Button, then turn the amp on. Wait about 5 seconds until the channel lights flash. That will take the amp out of Demo mode and allow channe...

Re: ID Series Amp in practice

+1 for the great review. I too am a huge JB fan. Talk about tone! Just fyI, I have found the KT66s to be great for snarly blues and the KT88s great for light OD.

Re: Footswitch and preset strategies for gigs and jamming

Interesting post. I fall victim to OCD when programming my banks/channels. Here is my general approach: Bank 1 (green) - Tones for Cover Band: 70's Classic Rock to 80's Hair Metal 1 - Clean 2 - Light Crunch 3 - Heavy Crunch 4 - Hard Rock Solo with slight Boost Bank 2 (yellow) -Ambient Tones for U2, ...

Re: Choosing the right ID Series amp.

excuse me... I meant to say in my post to set up 2 - 3 channels (per bank) for rythm and 1 - 2 channels (per bank) for leads.... I just wanted to clarify. Otherwise, everyone said this amp sounded terrific and they would rather hear this amp than my Marshall half-stack JCM200/DSL100 with $600 dollar...

Re: Choosing the right ID Series amp.

Hey guys, I had a chance to test my ID260 with my 250 pound loud drummer. I had no problem whatsoever keeping up. the only recommendation I would have is to set up 2 - 3 channels (per bank) and have 1 - 2 channels (per bank) at slightly louder volumes for your solos. Managing an optimum midrange lev...

Neal Schon - Journey

I noticed in recent years Neal left Gibson for a signature PRS and Marshall for Blackstar Series Amps.

He has always had phenomenal tone (past and present).

Re: ID series - blues settings

Hey dradd, I am only a few days into my ID260 and have found some stellar blues-based sounds. For a subtle overdrive (almost clean), I have found the KT88 on crunch, INF set around 11:00, and a dab of room reverb comes out pretty close to a Billy Gibbons Blue-Jean Blues tone. The KT66's offer a nasa...
