Re: worrying noises.. (HT-20)

I had a horrible suspicion it was! Swap all the valves out. It seems Blackstar are using shite components judging by all the HT-20 problem posts.

Re: Newbie here with a ht20 :)

I don't want to worry you unnecessarily but the first thing I'd do is swap out ALL the valves and put something decent in there. A LOT of people I know, not only on the forum, have had HT-20s die on them. These things are not cheap and embarrassing failures at gigs when I'm trying to present a profe...

Re: Defective HT 20

Me too-just got my HT-20 combo back from repair. The amp is only about 6 months old and it failed. Blackstar REALLY need to get to grips with not using cheap, crappy components on their less expensive (and definitely not cheap!) amps. Decent quality valves, for example, would only put a couple of qu...

Re: HT20 died on me...

Ok, finally got my amp back, fixed. The diagnosis was 'valves', but having stupidly left the service notes in the shop I can't say for sure if it was power or pre-amp failure. I suspect the former. Anyhow, it seems ok at the moment but I'm still taking my old faithful Bandit for back-up as I don't f...

Re: Know issues with Blackstar?

Ok, thanks. Mine's out for a warranty repair right now so I'll report back when it's fixed.

Know issues with Blackstar?

I recently posted that my HT20 mysteriously died on me after less than four months of ownership and less than 12 hours total use. I mentioned this on another (British) forum and it appears I'm not the only one. Several people who have purchased the HT20 (both head and combo), have reported the same ...

Re: HT20 died on me...

Fortunately only during practise. Pulled the guitar lead out to leave it in standby, went for a break, pushed the lead back in and...nothing. Power was getting in, all the valves were lit but no sound. Anyone have any ideas? Im no guitar tech mate but i know the valves they ship with are blowing ju...

Re: First gig with the HT20

I used mine at an outdoor gig-in a marquee-a couple of weeks ago and it performed perfectly. Even with a noisy drummer I didn't need to push it hard.
Sadly it has since expired. (See my 'HT20 died...' post).
