Re: ARTISAN 30 VALVE CHANGE BIAS?

Hi,
The HT-20, although it states in the handbook that it is cathode biased there is also a bias pot inside for 'fine tuning' . Although you can swap the power valves out with no adjustment, I would recommend the bias pot is adjusted accordingly for optimum performance.
Hope this helps.

Re: ARTISAN 30 VALVE CHANGE BIAS?

Hi,
Correct this amp is cathode biased so there is no adjustment required.
As long as they are a matched quad you should have no problems.

Re: HT-1RH full stack.

Hi, The HT1/HT1-R & HT1-RH are happy with a 4, 8 or 16 ohm speaker. The early models said '1x8 ohm' but this was later changed to '4-16 ohm'.
Hope this helps.

Re: preamp tube placement

Hi,
Just to clear this all up... The ECC82 is not the phase inverter it acts as a buffer for the phase inverter.
The valve nearest the transformers is an ECC83 this is the phase inverter.
In all series one amps the ECC82 is always the second valve away from the transformer.
Hope this helps!!
