Re: Tube Sockets & Tube Pins

I'm surprised the thread is still going. As the original author of it, I want to thank you (Phantum) for the assistance. I donated my HT1R combo to a local music academy that provides lessons and equipment to young artists just beginning their interest in guitar. I finally decided to end my frustrat...

Re: Blackstar HT5-R - Gain and volume knob

Are those tubes label on the board as V1 and V2? The HT1R is like that. It's very small print however.

Re: noise on HT-1 metal

I look'd, but did not find the thread showing the HT1 guts. You should disconnect the power cord and work on the amp with it laying flat and speaker downwards. I loosened the back screws and removed them. The rear handle screws, I just sufficiently loosen several screwdriver turns without removing t...

Re: noise on HT-1 metal

Not too difficult. Mine did have a dab of lacquer that helped keep the nuts holding the 4 speaker screws tight. I suggest finding a proper nut driver. Very carefully lift the amp circuit board up and out and rest it on the cabinet and pull the speaker connectors from their terminals. If the speaker ...

Re: is it new tube time?

I would try putting guitar volumes on 10 and tone controls on 10. Turn on your amp and if all the highs seem to be there, play for 20 minutes or so and see at what point your issue returns and how long it takes.

Re: is it new tube time?

What guitar(s) and what pickups are you using when you notice this? I have the HT1R combo and I've owned it for three years. I used to notice something similar. The HT1R in reviews has been described as "warm" sounding, and that may be true due to the fact that ounces the amp's tubes warm up a few m...

Re: HT-1RH volume fade

What model guitar are you using? I have a Les Paul Classic that I play into my HT1R combo. On the gain channel I set my guitar's volumes around 7 to 8. The amp is set: gain about 10 o'clock; volume Just below 11 o'clock; ISF at 8'or 9 o'clock; reverb 9 o'clock. I use the guitar volumes to either inc...

Re: noise on HT-1 metal

I'm glad you figured it out. The Gain channel is noisy and when the gain pot is at 1:00 o'clock or higher it can present a problem for some owners. Most tubes on the gain channel exhibit some level of hum or noise when at idle. My HT1R has it, but it's reduced when my hand touches the strings. I don...

Re: Tube Sockets & Tube Pins

I suppose my easy answer would be to lower that pickup somewhat, especially on its table side. That would be a good question to post on the Seymour Duncan forum or the MYLesPaul forum. Is it a single coils or humbucker?

Re: Tube Sockets & Tube Pins

Thanks Phantum. I'm not up on blending and phasing pickups, so, I have no opinions on what you are thinking of doing with your Ibanez. The Les Paul has the original 300K audio taper volumes and 400K linear taper tone pots. Orange Drop .022 are the caps to replace the original ceramic disk ones. Clas...
