Could be a number of things, as it's brand new and still under warranty I'd call Blackstar up and have it shipped to them for testing/repair.

Wrong, on the head the screws for the chassis also hold the rubber feet in place, so unscrew the feet and the chassis will slide out!

I've used my HT-1HR with a 408 on top and a various different 8ohm cabinets on the bottom. As long as the 2nd cabinet is 8ohm it'll be fine.

I wouldn't plug the head straight into the rambler, it'd cause all sorts of problems. I believe you can disconnect the speaker on the rambler and using an extension speaker cable, connect the blackstar head to the rambler's speaker. I too have a HT1-RH and plug it into a 112 cab. I looked at the 408...
