Re: Biasing a Soloist 60

Blacky: Your post has been itching in my head as I know a bit about electonics, but not so for tubes in general. In fact my Soloist 60 is my first tube amp ever. Could you repost the question using units? Also, you start with 25. 25 what? Where does 25 come from? Also, you multiply by .7. Why? My st...

Re: Succesful pedal - HT combinations

Hey Marcello: Did you ever get the Wampler Pinnacle? If so, how's it working with you BS amp? I keep thinking of getting one. I read somewhere on this board that our amps tend to compress signals coming in too strong at the input. I realized that's what was happening with my Plextortion. Placed it i...

Re: stage 60 pcb pic

Thanks for posting the pic, majikmojo!
This gets me one step closer to replacing my soloist 60's stock tubes.
I did it before on a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, but had clear instructions.
Been gathering bits and pieces of info for the BS.

Re: EQ Pedal for Boost

For a good overall boost, I place it in the effects loop, after the pre-amp & distortion. This setup complements the amp's tone knobs by giving me better control of the particular frequencies I need to cut through the mix. With the MXR 10-band EQ I can also add additional gain, which adds distortion...

Re: Succesful pedal - HT combinations

Hi, Recently I have been looking at the Wampler Pinnacle. A distortion pedal supposedly deliver a pretty decent brown sound. Has anyone tried this pedal, preferably with a HT-40? It's not any easy (or cheap) pedal to get in The Netherlands (will have to order it online I think) so it would be nice ...

Update

When I wrote my previous post in this thread, it had only been a few days since I'd gotten my Blackstar amp. Since then, I've been getting to know my amp better. I've also been playing with two new toys through my amp: - an MXR Classic Overdrive (with an internal switch, supposedly allowing you to s...

Re: Succesful pedal - HT combinations

I've been trying some of my pedals with my new HT-60 Soloist and here's what I've got so far: Before the amp, in the following order: (1) Dunlop DB-02 Dimebag Custom Wah (moded): Pretty awesome sound, with the amp in either channel. (2) MXR MC-402 Custom Audio Electronics Boost/ Overdrive: Excellent...

Effects Loop and Speaker Emulated Output in HT series amps

In the HT-40 and/or the HT-60 Soloist, does the "Speaker Emulated Output" come out before or after the effects loop?
